Margaret: "This photograph is one in a series I made with this little girl, who is my niece. She was really great to work with because you never felt she smiled or posed for the camera. I loved the way she just stares into the lens, completely unperturbed. The figure in the background, the buildings, even the sky, look very ominous, especially looking at them from her height.

The series was a set of prints I made that tried to illustrate the different paths, choices and influences present in a child's life, both present and future."
